Anybody else had an issue where one or two of their feeder insects have shed their skin but come out deformed? It happened to one of my locusts that i was going to be feeding George but it died in the process of shedding. Just a couple of days ago another locust did it and i helped it as best as i could to get the skin off and its survived amazingly. Its got a tiny body though and deformed wings :S The wings looks too soft and white. I wondered if anybody knew what might cause this? It's still eating and can move but unfortunately only has half of 1 back leg Sad it's in my breeder tank and not going to be fed to George.

I have no idea what care locusts require. With roaches, it could be caused by lack of humidity or protien.

It's funny because most people hate bugs. We beardie lovers have become one with insects, I give every living insect more respect now I've had to watch them grow and multiply.

Yeah its difficult because they are like my pets now with trying to breed them. So when i see one struggling for its like its upsetting. Because they have their own little lives too. They hop about and chew on stuff. And do funny things with their legs. One even flew at me yesterday and escaped! That was ever so scary! I hate touching adult locusts! YUK! I had to have a plastic bag over my hand and even that was gross.

I bet i just need to change their water more often! I dont give the adult ones water only the ones i feed to George.
