I was wondering.. i feed him about times a day, but i have school. i feed him when i get up (5:45 am), and i put in a few crickets and meal worms before i leave (7:00 am), when i get home ( about 5:45 pm) i give him a few veggies and about an hour before i go to bed, i give him some berries and crickets (between 9:00 and 10:00.  i am trying to figure something out about his daily feeding.. trying to start a more organized and set-in-stone feeding habit. Should i be feeding him more veggies, or more meat??  After he eats in the morning, i let him out and play with him as much as i can before i leave, and when i get home, i take him out, and sometimes feed him his veggies while he is out of the cage.  Is that ok?

Meal worms are not the best feeders and you might want to consider going to roaches rather than crickets one day.  They are the best feeders.  Veggies should be in all day.  You do not want to feed them that late at night.  They need their heat do digest food.  I feed mine in the morning, then leave their veggies in all day, then feed them around dinner time.  Mine go to bed around 7:30.  Hope that helps!

Mine just seem to know when bedtime is.  I have really spoiled mine,  I took a box and put a blanket in it and I put them to bed with a blanket over them.  It is the only way they want to go to bed.  They wait up if I am late until I do a proper job of it.  lol

Silkworms, roaches, and crickets are great for main feeders.  I also give superworms, hornworms, and butterworms as a treat.  They can be ordered on line.  "mulberyfarms.com is a good place to check out.  They also have roaches and so does "Aaronpauling.com"  A few member on this site also sell roaches.  You can even start your own colony and bread them yourself.

The berries are fine.  There is a care sheet that is on this forum that will help with the info you need.  There is another site that I will look up for you that has a list of what is best on the veggie front.

I feed mine outside their viv.  I will be playing with them and give them a butterworm or hornworm.

No that should be just fine.  I went to Walmart and bought some fleece.  They lay on it and I put some over them.  I have the site that tells you about what is good or not regarding Veggies.  It is beautifuldragons.com"  Check it out and let me know if that helps.  Mine are addicted to collard greens.  I have tried others but not as interested.  Mine are also not big on fruit but I keep trying.  Since they are under a year old, I am not to worried.  If you are interested in breeding the roaches, check under feeding and I believe you will find a thread that talks about how to.

Great advice. But also how much protein v/s vegetable depends on the age of your dragon. If they are under 12-15 mos old, they are growing at such an excelerated rate their body needs the protein to grow strong and healthy. So approx 75% should come from these. As they approach adulthood and their growing starts slowing down, it switches, and 75% should come from vegies and only 25% coming from protein. Also, allow at least 2 hours after eating, for complete digestion, before shutting off the lights. As far as turning on your lights early, i think your dragons will soon adjust to it, but i wouldn't leave them on for anymore then 12 hours.
A friend of mine has done some field research on dragons and tells me that mustard greens resemble the smell of a native plant, can't remember the darn name of it, and i find my guys will gulp that down before anything else. Although i am currently trying to find out the content of oxalates that are in them.
