Hornworms helped my picky eater

If hornworms were as cheap as roaches or crickets I would feed them all the time.  My BD, Leo, just came out of brumation.  He was a little slow for the first 4-5 days despite drinking a lot of water.  After eating some hornworms he had a good bowel movement and his energy level shot up!

When he won't eat crickets or roaches he will always take supers or hornworms, and horns provide a lot of water and nutrition so I go with them. They do cost a little more but this is the 2nd year I've used them to jump start Leo.

I did not know they sold them.  I would if I could but I bet it is expensive.

Oh it appears to be less expensive and Great Lakes Hornworms (GLH) will even give you instructions. In fact, a guy with GLH told me on the phone he would help me if I ever decided to do that.

All mine will eat is Hornworms or Silk worms.  Won't eat a cricket anymore, turns away from Supers now too.  Want to try roaches but not if they will go to waste too.  My food bill is getting very expensive!  To the point where she may have to go.  50 a month is not bad but 150 a month on food is way over board.

How old is your little one.  Buy a small amount of appropriate roaches and see if that will work because you can breed your own roaches.  I have a similar problem with one of mine and I have bought 500 tiny silks for 9.99 and raised them.  The most expensive thing is the food.  Depending on the age you can stop feeding them for a few days until they are hungry enough to eat what you want them to.  Just keep offering them what you want them to eat. They can be very stubborn.
