We have a Boxer (Annie) and an Akita (Anita Akita). Anita is by far the quickest learning and most loyal family/guard dog that I've ever seen. Anita takes her "job" seriously all the time 24 hours a day... to the point of being almost annoying at times. Annie is still my favorite because she's also very good at those things, but she's a complete goofball when there's no "danger" present.
I got mauled by an Akita when I was 8 years old, rushed into surgery, 52 stiches.

oh my. that isn't good. i think a lot of what a dog becomes is how they're raised too tho. rotties for instance, my brother has had many of many of many of rotties and they've never been "out of hand". the only time he's noticed to have a problem was with, i do believe, was the ones with russian bloodlines in them. they were a bit more vicious. but overall they are the biggest babies i've ever seen. oOoO it's either russian or german, im going to have to ask him now lol

I agree totally, and I wasn't trying to bash anyone lol I just have a grudge against the breed. It actually went for my throat but I was able to get my arm up in time and it just clipped my chin before getting a lock jaw on my arm and well.. Im lucky I still have it. This dog was neglected and chained up alllll day in a yard that was never cleaned. The only interaction it had with the owners was when they screamed at it to shut up. I LOVE dogs and HATE animal abuse as a result Anyways I would love to see some pics of the pooches

Yes, it was put down that very day actually, out of it's misery.. I hear about dog attacks on the news all the time and it creates a stereo type for many breeds. What most people don't realise is that the owners of those dogs usually own a pet for the wrong reason and that's why they chose that breed to begin with.

iv got a pitbull cross. when i walk him people actually cross the street to avoid him, pits have such a bad rep here. he is the biggest softy ever, he wouldnt know how to hurt someone i even had a knock on the door from the police once, they had an annonimous tip off that im keeping and ill treating a fighting dog! they came in with dog handlers ready to take my baby. after an inspection of my house and charlie brown (my dog) they came out smiling saying what a lovely friendly dog, he lives better than us

this is my friends dog, she's my big baby she's about as close as i'll be able to get to a pit. the boyfriend likes to "play fight" with dogs and im sure that would be hard for the dog to understand it can't do it with the kids too. i just don't wanna take that chance just yet.
