Hi All

ladyknite - Yes, slowly but surely he's getting back to normal.  I just have to get him eating his veggies now.  Thank you for your suggestion.  I never thought of Kiwi fruit.  I will try him with that.  You never know, he might like it.

I have posted some turtle pics for you on the other animals section.

jus85411 - Yes, he's getting there bless him.  I will be glad when he starts eating his veggies again.

Hi Veggieburger  Smiley

Yes, it's great that he is eating again.  He's still only eating his locusts though.  I've still got to get him eating his veggies!

However, his health is still under par.  One day last week, I was giving him his locusts, and as he went to get one he shook his head from side to side quite violently!!!  I thought it must have bit him.  When I checked his mouth inside and out, I couldn't find anything.

The following day I checked again and still couldn't find anything.  I believed he was ok.

Three days later, the side of his mouth was swollen.  When I looked inside his mouth, there was a little dark pink lump that looked sore!!!  I thought the locust did bite him after all.  I've been bathing it with boiled cooled water, and then treating it with a 10% Iodine solution all week, but it doesn't seem to be getting any better.  I'm beginning to think it must be something else.

So, it's back to the vet tomorrow (Saturday).  I think he is going to need another antibiotic to clear this up.  I just hope he doesn't stop eating again  Sad

I've got a couple of pics.  I'll post them for you to see.

that looks like it's outside the teeth.  Is it on the gum line or outward where you might consider "lips"?

Hi Veggieburger, Smiley

No bless him.  He seems to be really suffering lately one way or another.

I feel sure though that if it is a bite, then it must be that locust that caused him to shake his head about that did it.  I haven't noticed any spiders lurking about recently.

Hi ladyknite,  Smiley

Yes, the sore is outside of the teeth, I believe I would class it as being more on the fleshy part of the inside of his lip.  Bless him, it really does look sore.  Sad

The vet has put him back on Baytril for now.  She has also taken a couple of swabs for testing.  Will get results by the end of the week.
