Just got my Dendrobates tinctorius Cobalt's. 0.0.3

My GF Shay took some pictures of them. They were being a bit skittish but here they are.

In a line we have (as a current name) little spot, mohawk and no spot

Little spot is slightly bigger and more active

mohawk out exploring the brom

Nospot the smallest seems to be hiding a lot but they did all eat today.

And the temp tank that they are in.

Hope the pictures work, I linked them from another post and I hope it keeps the picture links the same.

They're gorgeous! A friend of a friend raises them for sale here and I'd love to get a couple of them eventually.

Surprisingly less work then you would think but a very large initial cost. I have prob dropped 500+ on them so far but now it is just 50$ in food per year and the occasional 8$ new fruitfly culture.

I have even been raising some other new bugs and they are doing well, my springtail culture is booming and I just started a tropical isopod culture that well is new and not much going on yet.

The downside is I already want some more and these guys are not even in their tank yet.

Is it true that the darts aren't poisonous when raised in captivity? Just asking out of interest i think they are awesome I'd just hate to get one of those if they were poisonous haha Smiley

I've heard they aren't poisonous in captivity because of their diet. I could be wrong but that's what I've read.

Yeah they are not poisonous, it is theorized that it is the ants they eat in the wild but no one really knows why they lose it.
