Hey all
I was wondering if there was a way to test weather or not a bulb is still emitting uva/uvb rays. It seriously annoys me not knowing if its time or not as the uv bulbs are very expensive.

Thanks

It's called a UV meter.. not cheap either... I understand that if you are running less than say a case worth of uvbs it doesn't pay for itself..

Here is a company that sells these.. You can check prices and make the decision for yourself.

Hope this helps.

The only way would be to purchase a uv meter, which are very expensive. The safest rule of thumb is to replace florescent bulbs every 6 months and MVBs every 12 months.
