I have noticed the past week that my beardie has had excess moisture in his stools on and off though. Some days they are normal and some days they look more watery, color is still normal. The first few weeks I had him I was giving him a spring mix of romaine lettuce and tango and his stools were perfect. I was informed by a few members on here that romaine was no good. So I switched over to collard greens which I read was a great staple green. So I have been feeding him that the past two weeks. I dust his greens with a calcium and vitamin supplement every few days. I also give my crickets "cricket drink" for gut loading and it contains moisture and calcium. He has been eating a lot of crickets so perhaps the extra moisture from the gut loaded crickets is effecting his stools?

Sometimes a change in diet will do that to them. It should get better when he gets used to the new diet

And I never really noticed it much before. But I noticed today when I went to clean up some of his poop that it smelled. I think I have caught small whiffs here and there but dismissed it as something else. But today it was very noticeable. Once I cleaned it the smell went away. But is beardie poop supposed to smell??

Was this a room clearing odor ?  If so, then perhaps a fecal exam is in order.
Hope this helps.

"I dust his greens with a calcium and vitamin supplement every few days."

How old is this dragon ?
Vitamins should only be offered at most 2 times weekly... Depending on the age of the dragon, under a year, 5 times a week for calcium, over a year 1-2 times a week.
Hope this helps.

It wasnt room clearing but it was a bit foul.

He is definitely under a year old. And I am using calcium + D3 and a multivitamin by ExoTerra.

For the crickets I am also using "Cricket drink" by Zilla which contains moisture and calcium. I also got them the Zilla cricket and insect food.

ensure your vitamin schedule is what Janie suggested.  Multivitamins cause issues in the system when consumed too often.

All poop smells.  If you can smell it across the room then a fecal is definitely needed.  If you're right up on the enclosure, chances are you're ok.

Keep in mind that bathing routines some owners keep cause more water in stools as well.  If this might be your issue, simply reduce your bathing schedule.

Diet changes can cause loose stools, so i'd give it a couple more weeks before i changed anything else there.

It wouldn't hurt to have a fecal done.  I'd get prepared for it soon anyways.

Well I came home today and went to clean out some poops and the good news one that this one did not smell anything like the one from yesterday. It just smelled like a normal poop. I switched him over to bigger crickets 2 days ago cause the small guys just weren't doing it for him. Perhaps that change caused something. I will continue to monitor it for the next few days to ensure everything is ok. His behavior is still normal, he is very active, likes being held and just seems his normal self not feeling sick.
